Estate sale find, vintage original Treasure Map of the United States, circa 1957.
"Nothing can stir the heart so much as the lure of buries gold, and here shown for the first time are over 445 of the fabulous caches that have quickened the
    pulses
of young and old.  The locations are as accurate as history allows."
In addition, hundreds more annotations reference hordes ranging from Blackbeard’s buried treasure to lost Army payrolls and long forgotten mines. A few scattered illustrations add various decorative and historic elements, such as an image of a Spanish doubloon and a key relating symbols used by Native Americans.
Though the map’s accuracy is suspect, its theme represents an important aspect of American culture. Published in Colorado Springs in 1957 by Walter Drake & Sons.
The item measures approximately 28.5" X 45", approximate shipping weight 7 ounces
