Antique High Brow China Head Doll w/ Muslin Body and China Hands 8

Description

Here is a high brow China head doll mold we have  not seen before, marked "5."  We are assuming she is, as we were told, a German doll.  She has a muslin- covered, horse-hair stuffed body which is very stable and vintage porcelain hands which were added later
on.  She is 20 inches tall.  Her face is beautifully painted, with no paint loss, with the colors extremely vivid.  There is some loss to her hair, both front and back, but it is very little. ( see photos)  She wears antique clothing, which is old,  but probably not original: white pantalettes, a somewhat faded red dress with beige leaves on it and is gathered at the neckline, and a white cotton pinafore with a side pocket and cap sleeves.  Her white stockings and snazzy red shoes are new acquistions.  She is a gorgeous doll!
