    Description

    This is a very high quality Firewire (IEEE-1394) cable manufactured by Laird Telemedia.   The cable utilizes heavy duty cable sleeves for the transition from the large gauge wires needed to support a long cable length to smaller cable needed to mate with the Firewire 4-pin connector.   This cable was designed to be used without a repeater and I have used the same cable model successfully without a repeater.  However, your application may require the use of a repeater, so usage without a repeater is not guaranteed.   As shown in the photos, the manufacturer's wrapping has never been removed.  This cable was purchased for a project, but was not needed.
